What will the decision making process be for acute services?
The aim is to reach consensus as to the best way forward. We will carry out an options appraisal process which will include members of the public – and we are keen to hear from the public about what matters to them in local health services. Should we decide that a reconfiguration is needed, we will look at all potential scenarios and consult the public before making any decisions.
Final decisions on any proposed changes to acute configuration will continue to rest with local CCGs and NHS England, in line with their role as the commissioners of local services.
